About the job

An opportunity to join the Animal Sciences Group. We are seeking a Research Associate to join the team to perform immunisations and sample collection for all studies and Microinjection of ES cells and Pronuclear injections.

 

Our Team:

The Animal Science team is a small dynamic team responsible for the generation of new mouse models, immunisation of animals for various projects, tissue collection and colony management.

We are a small hardworking team with great communication allowing us to fulfil our responsibilities whilst having a relaxed atmosphere.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Main responsibilities will include immunisation with novel vaccines, anitgens and sample collection.
  • Microinjection experience is highly desirable.
  • Accurate data entry using an in-house database and Excel files will be an essential part of your role to maintain records of procedural and other lab work.
  • Work closely with team members to maintain welfare records.
  • As part of an expanding team you will bring your technical skills into a fast moving working environment, providing essential data that helps drive projects forward.

 

About you

  • Experience working as a Licensed Animal technician in a research environment.
  • A Home Office Personal Licence, with modules 1-3 (Module 4 is desirable).
  • Experience of using regulated procedures including intra-peritoneal, sub-cutaneous, intravenous injections would be highly desirable, full training will be given on procedural work.
  • Experience with Microinjection (ESC and Pronuclear) would be desirable.
  • A keen eye for detail and able to produce accurate records and reports.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to improve skill set through training and mastering new techniques.
