Have your say on the future of the Campus

As we look to the year ahead, we wanted to take a moment to highlight an important milestone; late last year, we submitted a planning application for the future of the Campus. This application sets out a transformative roadmap to strengthen our reputation and impact as the place where cutting-edge start-up companies begin their innovation journey within the UK’s life sciences ecosystem.

The proposals will:

  • Further strengthen a sense of place for businesses, staff and the local community
  • Deliver more world-class flexible facilities to nurture businesses with global impact.
  • Improve access and connectivity across the campus.
  • Support biodiversity and the natural environment, with more woodland areas for carbon offsetting and protected habitat areas for wildlife.
  • Provide a larger, modern nursery, along with a new community building and shop.
  • Replace the existing 40 homes at The Close with 83 modern, energy-efficient homes. All homes will be exclusively for campus workers, with 40% provided at discounted market rent.
  • Create a new pedestrian-focused central campus with landscaped community spaces.
  • Open more walking routes, including a new pedestrian bridge across the River Granta to footpaths and green spaces south of the river.

Have your say

We would be very grateful if you could spare a few moments to share any comments with South Cambridgeshire District Council. Councils are required to consider all responses when making a planning decision.

It will make a real difference to councillors and officers if the campus community expresses support. If you support what we are doing, please take the time to contact the Council and encourage colleagues to do the same. Any views expressing support can be as detailed or as general as you like.

By simply saying you have looked at this proposal, you cannot see any harm being caused and you fully support what is being proposed - is all that is required.
