National Partnerships
BBT is playing an increasingly important role in the promotion and support of biomedical enterprise in the UK. BBT is an active and lead member of the UK Bioincubator Forum, an informal network of 23 bioincubators around the UK, which meets to share common interests and concerns as each group works to support the biotechnology cluster in its own region.
BBT regularly organises events, either independently or on in partnership with others, to bring together the scientific, business and investment communities. These provide a providing the perfect opportunity to find out more about the commercial aspects of the life science industry, funding mechanisms and networks that assist the translation of science into successful ventures.
The Biotechnology Investment Forum (BIF) held on the Babraham Research Campus twice each year provides new and early stage biomedical companies, drawn from across the country, with the unrivalled opportunity to pitch their business propositions to a forum of VC and Business Angel investor groups. The Companies, showcasing a diverse array of technologies present their objectives and financial requirements, through formal presentations and informal discussion.

Regional Partnerships
We value greatly our working relationships with local research organisations, such as the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Hinxton Genome Campus , as well as numerous interactions with the regional biotech community including, naturally, the tenant companies on the Campus.
The Babraham Group has a key position in shaping the future development of the Greater Cambridgeshire region's biotechnology community. BBT has maintained Board membership of the University of Cambridge Seed Funds and the Cambridge Network and is committed to supporting innovation and knowledge transfer to stimulate the economic development of the Greater Cambridgeshire Region.
Enterprise Hubs
BBT is, and should remain, positioned to exploit its ability to bridge the private and public sector activities to promote bio-innovation and as one of EEDA's founding Regional Enterprise Hubs, we are actively involved with the life sciences agenda for regional development. The EEDA funding for the BioConcepts Project and the FRAS programme both resulted from the Hub designation as did the subsequent capital grant funding for Meditrina.
The Finance and Regulatory Advisory Service (FRAS) [link to FRAS pages] provides a training, information and sign-posting service to promote better understanding of regulatory matters and financing opportunities in start-up and early-stage biotech and medtech companies in the region.
