Cambridge Theranostics Limited
CTL has identified a sub-set of Chlamydia antibodies from atherosclerotic lesions that have bacteriolytic catalytic properties ("abzymes"). The abzymes are produced by the body in response to a vascular Chlamydia infection. These antibodies are also able to cross-react with the host serum lipoproteins and cause their peroxidation - a key event in the development of atherosclerosis. The presence of these abzymes correlates with the level of stenosis of coronary and/or cerebral arteries, with the severity of angina.

This is combined with a powerful in vitro ribosome display technology which offers significant advantages over existing approaches in antibody optimisation. VH fragments provide great flexibility as a starting point for the development of new targeted therapeutics combining the specificity and binding affinity of antibodies with certain desirable characteristics of small molecules. Crescendo’s technologies were invented by scientists at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge (UK). The Company has raised £4.5 million in seed funding from leading life sciences investors, Sofinnova Partners with Aitua, Avlar BioVentures and the Rainbow Seed Fund also participating.

Our mission is to position ourselves as the leading intermediary between academia and industry for bioinformatics applications and combine the best of both worlds for our clients.
Hycagen Limited
Hycagen combine skills in chemistry and microbial/enzyme science to design optimal alternative biofuels. The chemical and physical properties needed of a fuel are considered first, and then a biotechnology approach is identified to provide it economically from a renewable carbon feedstock. Similarly, biotechnology processes to chemical industry intermediates are being developed utilising sustainable feedstocks instead of petroleum supplies.
Immunobiology Limited
ImmunoBiology Limited (ImmBio) is a biotechnology company developing the next generation of vaccines for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases by applying its proprietary HspC™ vaccine technology platform to development of breakthrough products.
Innova Biosciences Limited
Innova Biosciences is building a portfolio of innovative reagents and kits for high throughput drug screening. The company is currently developing a universal kinase assay that will work with any combination of enzyme and substrate, and on multiple instrument platforms. The system will effectively eliminate assay development work for kinase targets and thus greatly accelerate kinase-based drug discovery project.
